Simply add a servo to actuate the mechanical tail gear retract. Control tail gear
retract to servo with a 4-40 rod.

These retractable tailwheels are constructed from aircraft grade steel and aluminum components. They also feature a shock absorbing steerable strut as standard. Designed for large and giant scale model airplanes weighing up to 40 lbs., this tailwheel is operated mechanically by a standard servo.
